During a run on the beach this morning I passed a big gator about four feet from the water. After a couple minutes of deliberation I decided to head back to the car and grab my camera. Unfortunately after running four miles to get my camera and return park rangers had shown up and the gator was no longer on the beach. I was able to see a glimpse of it in the water but in the second or two to get my camera ready, lost it in the waves to not be seen again. The pelicans above tried to make me feel better but I’m bummed to have missed a beautiful shot of a misty sunrise behind an alligator watching waves.
