Heart of St. Augustine 100 Years Ago
St. Augustine Pics five year anniversary week continues. I stitched today’s shot from five dry plate negatives and then created an interactive image that will allow you to explore the details of life then.
The original images are listed as being between 1900 and 1915, originally published by the Detroit Publishing Co. I found the pictures at the Library of Congress.

Great performance before (and after) a showing of Route 66 that had been filmed in St. Augustine. They sounded amazing.
Enjoyable Route 66 episode (This is Going to Hurt Me More Than It Hurts You) even if some points had locals scratching their head. (Castillo de San Carlos & the route taken driving to the hospital) I also got to see the bank building clock (no longer exists) in action along with a food fight in Flagler’s dining hall.
